The Srimad-Bhagavad-Geta Slokas
Chapter 1:arjuna-viṣāda-yogaḥ (Arjuna’s Grief)
Verse 1.1(Sloka 1):
dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca
dharma kṣetre kurukṣetre
samavetā yuyutsavaḥ |
māmakāḥ pāṇḍavāścaiva
Kim akurvata sañjaya ||
Meaning: 
Dhritarashtra said: O Sanjaya, assembled in the holy land of Kurukshetra and desiring to fight, what did my sons and the sons of Pandu do?
Verse 1.2(sloka 2):
sañjaya uvāca
dṛṣṭvā tu pāṇḍavānīkaṁ
vyūḍhaṁ duryodhanastadā |
Ācāryam upasaṅgamya
rājā vacanam abravīt ||
Meaning: 
Sanjaya said: On observing the Pandava army arrayed in battle formation, King Duryodhana approached his teacher Dronacharya and spoke the following words.
Verse 1.3(sloka 3):
paśyaitāṁ pāṇḍuputrāṇām 
ācārya mahatīṁ camūm
vyūḍhāṁ drupadaputreṇa 
tava śiṣyeṇa dhīmatā
Meaning:
Behold, O teacher, this great army of the sons of Pandu, arranged in a military formation by your intelligent disciple, the son of Drupada.
Verse 1.4(sloka 4):
atra śūrā maheṣvāsāḥ 
bhīmārjunasamā yudhi
yuyudhāno virāṭaśca 
drupadaśca mahārathaḥ
Meaning:
Here are heroes, mighty archers equal in battle to Bhima and Arjuna: Yuyudhana, Virata, and Drupada, the great warrior.
Verse 1.5(sloka 5):
dhṛṣṭaketuścekitānaḥ 
kāśirājaśca vīryavān
purujitkuntibhojaśca 
śaibyaśca narapuṅgavaḥ
Meaning :
Dhrishtaketu, Chekitana, the valiant king of Kasi, Purujit, Kuntibhoja, and Shaibya, the best among men.
